Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we don't, and how we keep your data safe.

Last updated: January 1, 2026

ToolStop is built around a simple promise: your files and content stay on your device whenever it's technically possible. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit ToolStop, why it's collected, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. The only information ToolStop handles is:

  • Tool input you provide. Text, images, PDFs and other files you drop into a tool. Almost every tool on ToolStop runs entirely in your browser, so this data never leaves your device.
  • AI tool prompts. A small number of tools (clearly marked "AI") send your prompt to a third-party AI provider so the model can generate a response. The request is anonymous and not tied to your identity.
  • Anonymous usage analytics. Standard, aggregated information such as page views, country, browser type, and referring site. We do not build advertising profiles from this data.
  • Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records IP addresses and request metadata for security and abuse prevention. Logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with data brokers.
  • We do not require you to create an account to use any tool on ToolStop.
  • We do not upload the files you process to our servers (with the narrow AI exception above).
  • We do not fingerprint your browser for advertising purposes.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

ToolStop uses a small number of cookies for essential functionality (such as remembering your theme preference) and for anonymous analytics. If we display advertising via Google AdSense, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Read our full Cookie Policy for details.

4. Third-party services

The third-party services we rely on are limited and disclosed transparently:

  • Hosting and CDN — to serve the website quickly and reliably.
  • Privacy-respecting analytics — to understand which tools are useful.
  • Google AdSense — if and when ads are shown, Google may use cookies as described above.
  • AI model providers — only for tools explicitly labelled "AI".

5. Children's privacy

ToolStop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we don't operate user accounts, most users have no personal data with us to begin with. If you'd like to exercise a right, email us using the address on the Contact page and we'll respond within 30 days.

7. Data security

Connections to ToolStop are encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Because the heavy lifting happens in your browser, the surface area for a server-side data breach is intentionally tiny.

8. International users

ToolStop is available globally. By using the site, you understand that your request metadata may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on standard contractual clauses where required.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change.
